What is a land trust?

A land trust is a non-profit organization that works with interested landowners to protect land using a variety of conservation tools such as conservation easements. Local, regional and national land trusts are working to conserve open space, farmland and natural areas across the country. The Bluegrass Conservancy is a non-profit regional land trust committed to the conservation and preservation of the unique rural and cultural resources of the Bluegrass region.
